Barentz Expands HI&I Sales Leadership Team

Barentz, a leading distributor of life science ingredients and specialty chemical solutions throughout North America, is excited to welcome Marcie Johnson to our expanding HI&I sales team as the Sales Manager for the eastern region of the US. 

Marcie joins our HI&I team as the Sales Manager for the Eastern US.   She received her Bachelors in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri-Columbia (MIZZOU).  Early in her career, she worked for the US Dept of Agriculture (Columbia, MO) and for Science Applications International Corporation (San Antonio, TX) where she held positions in QC, and as a Chemical Engineer Consultant on projects for the Dept of Defense and major pollution prevention projects.Marcie contributed as a Performance & Process Engineer and Operations Manager (Admixtures) at Boral Material Technologies, Inc. (San Antonio, TX). In this role, she was responsible for relationships with 100 chemical and equipment companies nationwide. Marcie also sold engineering designs to Electric Utility companies and managed multi-million dollar engineering projects.Marcie then worked for Brenntag Southwest, Inc. (Dallas, TX) as Account Manager, as a Sales Manager and lastly, as an Industry Manager (Food, Pharmaceutical, Personal Care).

While with PURAC (Lincolnshire, IL),Marcie explored the manufacturing side as a Senior Executive Account Manager.  She delivered technical presentations at tradeshows and conferences, developed strategic relationships as well as designed a global marketing plan. Marcie provided regulatory and import communications to Global Management and maintained the Global Key Account Manager role for Colgate and P&G.  In her next role, Marcie operated as a Senior Account Manager for Sensory Effects Flavor Systems (Bridgeton, MO), where she was responsible for creating marketing plans, maintenance and growth of National Key Accounts and leading internal R&D teams to identify new product lines and markets. 

Marcie’s most recent position was as SW Account Manager and Regional Sales Manager for Glenn Corporation (Warwick, RI).  After demonstrated success in sales growth in her territory, she was promoted to Sales Manager, and became responsible for Key Suppliers, including reporting, marketing plans and sales growth.  At that point, she created and lead the Azelis Leadership Council for the Care Division and then was promoted to lead and develop the Azelis Leadership Council for Azelis Americas. She is very excited to focus on the HII market and support the growth at Barentz.
